Polls Show Clinton Support Slipped After FBI Letter

Polls Show Clinton Support Slipped After FBI Letter

"SNIP............

Polls taken since FBI Director James Comey said the bureau had discovered a fresh trove of e-mails that may pertain to its investigation of Hillary Clinton suggest that the Democratic presidential nominee is losing some support in a race that could come down to the wire.

An ABC/Washington Post tracking survey released Sunday, conducted both before and after Comey’s letter was made public on Friday, found that about one-third of likely voters, including 7 percent of Clinton supporters, said the new e-mail revelations made them less likely to support the former secretary of state.

The poll found that Clinton received support from 46 percent of likely voters to Trump’s 45 percent, suggesting the race is a toss-up. That contrasts with the 12-point advantage that Clinton held in the same poll a week ago. Trump’s numbers have crept up, in part, as more Republicans have gotten behind their candidate.

A CBS tracking poll of likely voters in battleground states -- the 13 states that could swing the Nov. 8 election -- released on Sunday found that among voters overall, 71 percent say it either won’t change their thinking, or in some cases, they had already voted.

It's likely voter screen is proportional to respondent intenstity.

Little change in actual underlying vote intention.

in your first 34 hours on DU.

I hope you are right but I am terrified that you are wrong. I am not certain that Trump won't win and I am not even certain that both candidates won't fail to reach 270, in which case all McMullen has to do to get chosen by the House is win Utah, thereby making him a top three finisher, and eligible for selection.

I went out canvassing yesterday, and then again today. I am doing all that I can to prevent an absolute calamity from taking place. Here is my post talking about my experiences on the campaign trail.

So basically, trump voters still aren't going to vote for Clinton and a very small percentage of Clinton support won't either

Mica sighs at everything Clinton, and Joe says he isn't voting for him, but continually gives Trump positive feedback. And, Helprin is so partisan, he always defends Trump. The show disgusts me. It needs to be replaced.

IF you're a minority and are the victim of stop and frisk, and just happens to get a policeman whose a Klansman, then you too would be in a lot of trouble.

tRump can't hurt you? Stop and frisk combined with over-zealous police officers can most certainly hurt you if you're a minority no matter what age you are.

That poll is one messed up poll. It's gone from +12 to +1 in a matter of days - and the dip was starting well before the FBI release.

Agree Drunken Irishman .

I understand that there may be tightening in the polls because "some" Rethugs are coming back home to tRump late, but I doubt a "herd" of tRump voters came back to him in those numbers. As you said, her numbers began to dip BEFORE Comey did his Tonya Harding knee-capping job on Hillary this past Friday. I mean, there was NOTHING going on negatively with Camp Hillary that I can recall at all that happened last week before Friday to have made her numbers go down that quickly. I didn't believe Hillary was up by 12 points to be honest (More like 5-7 points), but to lose an "alleged" 11 point lead like that?

Like you, I smell a horse race meme before this election is over because they (The networks) see their gravy-train in tRump leaving the station for good, and they want that last bit of blood out of the proverbial turnip they can get before it's over
