IMO.
Comey is one of these self-righteous, smug know-it-all people who think they are so honest and perfect that they MUST do the right thing. He thinks his actions are right and doesn't care the consequences.
He acted foolishly. He could have done this in a much cleaner manner, but he is a jerk.

tongue lashing he administered to Hillary when he said there would be no prosecution. The guy is a partisan hack and needs to be fired the day after the election...he needs to be charged as well and stripped of all his benefits...including his pension.

Comey is a Republican, just like Alberto Gonzales, Gowdy, and friends. Comey had to pass the Bush litmus test: you either did political dirty tricks or you got fired. That's history, not conspiracy bullshit.

Republicans conspire, of course. They don't need Putin to do that, never have, never will. Just like they didn't need Russians to burglar Watergate. Theyt are quite competent at these things all by themselves.

From that conspiracy site...the Washington Post. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/us-government-officially-accuses-russia-of-hacking-campaign-to-influence-elections/2016/10/07/4e0b9654-8cbf-11e6-875e-2c1bfe943b66_story.html

The Obama administration on Friday officially accused Russia of attempting to interfere in the 2016 elections, including by hacking the computers of the Democratic National Committee and other political organizations.

The denunciation, made by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Department of Homeland Security, came as pressure was growing from within the administration and some lawmakers to publicly name Moscow and hold it accountable for actions apparently aimed at sowing discord around the election.

Or that other conspiracy site CNN. http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/12/politics/russia-hack-us-election/

Russian hackers have already scored key goals in their apparent bid to disrupt the US presidential election, according to researchers monitoring the closely fought political campaign.

Allegations of dumping sensitive data, infiltrating official servers, manipulating online blogs and even hacking voter records, say analysts, have fueled concerns Moscow is trying to influence the election outcome.

The def of conspire is make secret plans jointly to commit an unlawful or harmful act. That is EXACTLY what Comey et al has done.

Political dirty tricks isn't code for anything, it is what it says, political dirty tricks. You don't need the leader of a foreign nation to do that, just ask Nixon!

It's the height of White privilege that an offensive mascot can be the team logo, and they chalk it up to anything other than the team owner's ability to do whatever they want.

Just like the Washington professional football organization refusing to change its moniker.

Maybe you need to vent your frustration on the DU admins as I took the avatar that they provided for the Cleveland Indians originally.

Comey is a Republican, and he is getting pressure from other Republicans to exert his authority, in violation of long-standing DoJ policy, for political purposes. He did so, either because he is a man of weak character, or because he is driven by partisan interests. No need to cloak and dagger skulduggery here.

I'm not the one who reported about Russians hacking the US elections servers, the DNC, etc. I'm pretty sure I read that all over the NYT, Washington Post, CNN, AP, etc.

Why would it be too much to think that the Russians have something on Comey just like they have on others in our Government? Blackmailing him to basically send secrets and to "fix" the election. At this point of the fucking weirdness on this election it isn't tin foil at all.

Here's a post this morning on DU from the USA Today. http://www.democraticunderground.com/10141611713

Russians hacked D3m 8 cratic servers, would not be surprised if they have hacked government and private servers of Republicans. Of course, they haven't publicly released them to Wikileaks...but that doesn't mean they couldn't use them to help Trump with the election.
