can we dispense with this "horse race" nonsense? the media is just plain right-wing biased.
they were not interested in a horse race in 1972, when nixon won 49 states.
they were not interested in a horse race in 1984, when reagan won 49 states.
yes, times have changed since then, the media has changed, etc., but the fact is that the media is interested in supporting the right-wing. they're only interested in a horse race when the right-wing candidate is behind. if the right-wing candidate is ahead, then they run stories about how inept the left-wing candidate is and how all-american the right-wing candidate is and how much safer and stronger we're gonna be and blah, blah, blah.
media companies are big corporations and benefit from right-wing policies.
media companies are owned by rich individuals who benefit from right-wing policies.
media companies get fed talking points by right-wing think tanks in a very coordinated fashion.
media companies get slammed routinely by thousands of right-wing monkeys calling, emailing, etc., if they fail to cover a right-wing talking point or ever come close to talking about a story without a right-wing bias.
there is no horse race.
they is only a right-wing bias.
period.
