first, a panic attack this morning, then my face turned bright red, now I just finished retching

( just water) and another red face. This election must have gotten to me physically as well as emotionally. Waking up thinking the election was over and Trump was our new president will do that to you...

I'm OK now and having a glass of wine. But I'm still going to eat lightly tonight...

So, I'm trying to figure out how to get through election night without drinking, get at least SOME sleep, and generally not become a total basket case.

I guess I am going to have to do one of my mega walks the evening before, listening to NPR, or on the treadmill, watching tv. I'm not really sure that either approach will burn off the stress sufficiently...

I am doing canvassing, etc, just to take my mind off of the anxiety. Only thing that is going to touch the anxiety for me at this point in the game is GOTV. I have basically lost my appetite too I haven't felt this sick about a presidential election since 2004. I do think we are going to win this one, but Trump is so unbelievably bad. I feel like we are having a weird, funhouse election in another dimension. At any moment, I expect to hear the Twilight Zone theme. At least with Romney and McCain, they seemed sane.

I kinda knew we were losing but didn't have the sophistication to understand polling and trends yet so I told myself lies to feel better. I learned a lot from that election. The hard way

This one is objectively better from a polling standpoint. It is just the complete dreadfulness of Trump that is making me sick.

I hope we get control of the Senate to get our Supremes in OK. But the bile
stirred up, exposed in it's ugliness by the Trump campaign, will remain. The
obstruction that Obama experienced will continue. There will be no real rest
from the struggle against the idiots. But we will have our first woman POTUS.
And we will have shelved Trump into a footnote of obscurity.

Horrible, raging anxiety. Couldn't eat either.

I ended up laying flat on my back in silence for an hour. Then I mustered up strength to do phone banking. I hate talking to strangers, so that is hard for me anyway.

Now I've got anxiety and a headache again. Two of my girlfriends also reported similar issues today. One lives in blue Illinois, another in red Indiana. We all need this to be over ASAP on Tuesday night night. Waiting for returns will be brutal.

From the article:
We as Democrats need to develop a swagger. Barack Obama has it. Hillary Clinton has it. We have to adopt it. We have to go into every election confident that we'll win.

This isn't to say that we have to be complacent. Complacency and confidence are different animals. Complacency breeds mistakes. Confidence energizes you, making you work to make sure you win.

Our long national nightmare is almost at an end, and Madam President seems on her way to a victory. (Plus all indications are that Democrats will retake the Senate.) Now is the time for a quiet confidence that we are hearing the last gasps of a dying beast. Now is the time to get to work and continue rebuilding our country to make it better than when we found it.

Have a nice cup of tea. Watch "Love Actually". Take some L-theanine or some Xanax if you have it.

Take a few drops of Rescue Remedy or Rock Rose.

Drink a nice glass of wine - but not too much or you won't rest well, and you'll feel awful the next day.

I don't want any of you coming down with Shingles or some other stress-related disease.

Believe me, you don't want a case of shingles.
