Since Bill and Hillary Clinton left the White House 15 years ago, they have taken in more than $240 million in income and paid $100 million of that back in taxes, according to a FORBES analysis of 15 years of their tax returns.

The Clintons paid $76 million in federal taxes, $21 million in state and local income taxes, $1 million in real estate taxes and another $1 million in foreign taxes from 2001 to 2015, their tax returns show. They also gave away $23 million to U.S.-based charities over that time frame.

In 2000, Bill’s final year in the Oval Office, the power couple paid $90,000 in taxes. The next year, both their earnings and their taxes increased dramatically, as Bill started giving speeches at places like Morgan Stanley, Oracle Corporation and the British Broadcasting Corporation — collecting more than $100,000 for each speech. In 2001, the Clintons earned $16 million and paid $7 million in taxes.

They got their biggest tax bill in 2014, when they handed over $10 million to Uncle Sam and another $3 million to state and local governments. That year, Bill and Hillary both went on highly paid speaking tours leading up to her presidential campaign. Together they hauled in a combined $28 million in income, more than the CEOs of Apple, General Motors and Wal-Mart.
