2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWho did you write-in for empty Dem offices?
In my part of West Virginia there were four state offices in which only a Republican was running, so my option was to ignore those positions on my ballot or write in a candidate.
After checking Hillary for president, I wrote in "Bernie Sanders" for every office without a Dem candidate.

(37,428 posts)No disrespect to the Republicans I love and trust, but as things stand there's simply no way I'm voting their party one more iota of power.

(28,394 posts)I have been running against our "permanent" republican congressman for years now. The democrats never bother to find an opponent for him any more. I want to be remembered as a "former candidate for Congress" in my obit. LOL
I do like your idea though!

(82,383 posts)until 2014 when the Greens fielded a candidate. This is for state assembly. The Green is running again. Last time he got 17% of the vote in the district. Probably mostly Democrats also taking advantage of that chance to vote against the Republican.
This area is white middle class - fools who think they are so successful they should be Republicans.

I live in a beautifully Blue district.
