My kid's classmate cried in school - Stepdad is voting for Trump

My son goes to a school that is pretty much evenly divided among Latino, African American and Asian-American students, not exactly Trump country. The other day, a classmate whose mother is originally from Central America cried because her abusive asshole step-dad is voting for Trump. This election has consequences that I never imagined in all my years. These people HAVE to be stopped.

Kids are so much more intuitive about things like politics than we give them credit for. As crazy as this election has been, it's been tough as parents to avoid discussing hot button issues in front of our kids, but even that doesn't shield you. Our 14 year old daughter approached us over the whole "Grab her by the p**sy fiasco about what that meant and why he would say that. Then Saturday night, I hear our seven year old son screaming "YES, YES, YES" from our living room. I rushed to see what was up and he responded "Hillary just won the kids choice election on Nick". While ecstatic he was a Hillary supporter, even though I didn't think he had picked up on his parents political leanings, I ask him why he supported Hillary over Trump. His response "Because Trump is a bully that says bad things. I wish I was big and he was a kid so I could spank him. He needs a spanking". We have very rarely ever raised a hand to our children but that comment made me literally LOL so hard I was crying. Kids get it, and I hurt for this child that has to live under a Trump supporters roof...ugh.
