Opinions don't work when weighed upon different sets of facts
I can't recall the last time I heard an argument from a Republican that was not based on their own set of "facts."
These days, all opinions might as well be thrown out the window. They never reach further than their own base.
Who is going to take the time to present all the hard evidence that disproves the foundation of lies, that so many of these Republican opinions have been formed from?
Commentators and surrogates argue non-stop on cable news programs every day. They argue with their separate set of facts.
How does this nonsense end?
Republicans discredit reliable fact checking sites as biased lies. Maybe the articles need to have embedded video.
All I can say to them is that there is a reason that their party has become so fractured. I understand how it happened. I understand how they used the fuel of hate and anger by allowing outright lies and hatred to circulate without challenge. Their side did not stand up for the truth.
But I can't tell them that. Or at least I have not figured out how to. It seems that they have to discover that on their own. And unfortunately there is generally only one source that they might trust. Presently, it seems to be Fox News. But even that source is giving way to Trumpism. What happens when even that slips away? Where will they pledge their allegiance to next?
