Voting memories

One of my all time favorite voting memories was 1972. I then lived in San Francisco, and my precinct was on Grant St in China-town in a Chinese family social club. The room was a 1st floor long narrow railroad flat, a typical for building built after the great SF fire. Along the side walls were many many pictures of uniformed army companies from the Chinese National army, circa 1920's - 1940's. Nothing else on the walls, except some big calligraphy scrolls, no English language signs. Way at the back of the room, was a table seating 5 or 6 elderly Chinese people, who were the poll workers. On the wall above them were crossed American and Taiwanese flags, beside which were big pictures of Gen George Washington and Gen Chiang Kai-Shek. So glad that I was able to have that experience.
