My mother would be so proud today.

She raised me as a single mom and was active in state politics all of her adult life.
In the 50s I was her escort to the governor's inauguration festivities.
She rose from secretary to insurance and mutual fund sales and was appointed by one governor to serve on the state board of pensions and securities.

She died in 1967 at 50.
Breast cancer.

I slipped a small photo of her into my pocket before I left to vote this morning.
It was symbolic, but I kinda felt like she was there.

Go Hillary!

I thought of her as I stood next to my daughter while we both proudly voted for Hillary.

Sec/treasurer of her county Democratic Party for about 30 years. I thought of her when I voted earlier today. Makes it even more special.

Raised by a strong, single mother who would have been so proud to cast her vote today for Hillary. I was happy in knowing that my mother left behind three strong female voters (myself and my two daughters). Hugs to you!

granddaughter.
I didn't meet Miz t. until about a year after mom died.
My wife and daughter and son-in-law all voted for Hillary today.
My grandson and granddaughter would have if they'd been old enough.

my mum would be proud too.....she was a Brit, but she was Labor / Democratic to the core

it pains me cancer still takes so many lives, including my mum.....I really believe we could have found a cure for cancer if we gave it the budget we spend on senseless wars

She went to the University of Alabama and one of her friends/classmates was Paul "Bear" Bryant.
Roll Tide.
She smoked Camels and liked her Bourbon with ice and a splash of water.
She was divorced in 1944. It was a wartime thing.
I was three.
It was us against the world from then on.

She was an early advocate of racial equality.
All in all, a pretty cool (and pretty) lady.
on edit: I guess you could say she was a Steel Magnolia.

Yeah, roger what you say about money spent on wars.

Poor lady's birthday was the day after Christmas.
I think she always got shortchanged.
