Related: About this forumI am going to feel bad for progressives/libs/dems who live in a state that goes for the dump !!
Sorry!!! It will be a pock on your state forever in history. But not on you. Remember that.

(32,610 posts)Meanwhile, we are making calls into Pennsylvania right now.
Those of us that live in very red states have been making calls into the battleground states since the beginning of the year. iows - we are helping Democrats in other places because we can not seem to make headway in our own states.

(15,222 posts)I live in Texas and I am surrounded by redneck idiots who spout all things Trump. I've been hopeful that Texas will turn blue this time around. That may or may not happen, but every day, we get closer.
The Trump redneck idiots are great motivation to keep the rest of us working hard to change Texas back to blue!
I appreciate the fact that you took the time to write your post, and specifically state that you understand our predicaments. Some people DO lump states into one category, and some forget that there are actually many Dems working in such places trying to change things.

(823 posts)Yep, we live in the state where the mortality rate of mothers during child birth is higher than most third world countries and funds are cut for programs that are used for special needs children when their families can't afford the cost. All of this is the work of right wing wingnuts in charge of the loony bin that is red state politics.

(24 posts)I'm used to it living in bright red OK and now bright red KS. The good news is that the right wing trickle down disaster of Brownback and his minions have woken people up here. I know Trump will win KS and the delegation will stay all red. But newly elected moderate republicans and Democrats might be able to reverse some of the tax cuts that have harmed public schools and crippled KU and KSU. Hope is in the air tonight.

(58,785 posts)ourselves for very, very old local attitudes. if Georgia were to go blue for the president, it would not be thanks to voters in our district.
In this election we believe our local friends who vote for Trump to be both intellectually and morally terribly at fault, and at the same time we cannot despise people we know to be sensible and good in so many other facets of their lives. And, after all, they're willing to be friends with us in spite of being our liberal Democrat outsiders (and one of us obviously a Jew). That says a whole lot for them when a bunch of others here are not.

(4,520 posts)during this election. It had Trump up by +46. No one here bothers with signs, caps, t-shirts, ect. it's the ultimate fly-over state. If Trump were to win (God-forbid) we would be the first state to go full-on fascist. I bet there are people out there right now building crosses to light tonight while praying they will be complimenting them with nooses soon.
