If a president needs to produce his birth certificate, then we can audit a presidential election

It's all about whether or not the president is legitimate, correct?

Donald Trump was the birther-in-chief for a couple of years. His racist rantings were given legitimacy by the media to the point that a sitting president felt compelled to produce his birth certificate to quiet the storm, a storm that should have been nothing more than a tempest in a teapot had we anything close to a responsible media.

So don't tell us that it's out of line or unreasonable to demand a full audit of the 2016 presidential election. The country needs to know if its president-elect was legitimately elected to the highest office in the nation. At present, there are compelling, rational, UNBIASED reasons to believe that the election was in the least compromised, and at worst, entirely manipulated for the results to be what they were.

In other words, the evidence that the election result does not reflect the actual votes cast in the many swing states that went for Trump is much, much stronger than any claims of President Obama not being born in the USA ever were, and that is by any objective measure.

So where is the media that helped promote the birther lies for years? A few people - like Paul Krugman -are questioning the results. But where is the full-on, 24/7 coverage of this important story? Where are the politicians who need to step forward and question the results? Where are the legal teams who should be filing lawsuits this very minute? Where is the fund raising campaign to secure the $ that might be needed to pay for a nationwide audit of the election?

Surely, this is more important and more reality based than were the claims that President Obama was not a natural-born citizen. Where's the outrage? Where's the controversy?

".... to compare 2004 and 2016 exit polling in the 20 contested Senate race states with polling. The same Senate seats were contested. Presidential results minus exit polls equals a + shift for the percentage more Republican votes than exit polling reports. The 2004 mean was +1.9% and normally distributed, the 2016 mean was +4.7% and the trendline increases in red states. States sorted red to blue from left to right."
