Why do conservatives think posting pictures of paper clips is offensive to us?

This seems to be the latest trend going around social media. And they all seem to think it's funny. And they call us intolerant and disrespectful because we won't bow down to almighty Trumpenfuror.

Could it have something to do with the people who are wearing safety pins?

To me, the paperclip is totally symbolic; it was a resistance symbol during the Second World War.

During World War Two, Norwegians wore paperclips on their clothes to demonstrate their opposition to Nazism and to anti-Semitism.

There could be a visual pun in that, but I don't know that the Donshirts would have picked up on it so I won't say it in the thread. Anyone wants to hear about it can "pm" me.

like the guy who invented the paper clip and got rich. It was simple and right in front of your face, but only the inventor thought about it and invented it. He said it after Jeb Bush, during a debate, said his brother kept the country safe, and Trump said "Oh yeah? What about 9-11?" Trump said no one had ever thought to hammer Jeb like that, same as paper clip inventor thought differently.
