Joe Biden offers frank analysis of Democratic election losses

Vice President Joe Biden talked about why Democrats lost the presidential election -- saying bluntly that the party had collectively overlooked key constituencies, particularly rural, working-class Americans.

“We lost because of awful lot of hard-working Americans who live in areas where we did not pay much attention to,” he said at a reception celebrating a Hindu festival. “Barack Obama won these people. They are not racist. They did not vote for the Democrats this time.”

Globalization, Biden said, has fundamentally altered the economic outlook for these voters -- especially blue-collar white American men -- who are feeling left behind by the political process.

“For the first time in recent memory, this is one section of American population where the life expectancy has gone down,” he added. “It is white American men between the age of 40 and 55. They have the highest suicide rate in America. Because they do not know how to deal with this new incredible change that is taking place in the world.” “Remember, we won these same people,” Biden continued.

Biden concluded his speech on a high note, exhorting his audience to take heart.

“I do not care what your political affiliation is, we have to not give up,” he declared. “One election will not change American.”

One election CAN change America.

Especially if the R's get their way on all the sweeping changes they're salivating over right now. Unless we oppose and stop them.

We need to take back the Senate, at least, and to limit the House majority.

and the 27% who did vote for trump, yeah they do have issues with race

Of course, the FBI interference, along with the media lying that the "FBI had reopened the email investigation", all were major factors

The Press was yelling about how Hillary had all these Early Votes,we were hearing okay I don't need to vote because it is all over. Then Comey nailed the door shut.

I find it stunning that few people realize you can be sexist and not racist. There was a distorted lens that people expected HRC to be ten times the human being any man was expected to be. the highest standards were only for her, everyone else got a shrug. dishearteneing. Thanks for your hard work.

30 years if Media hate hype and false stories. The Comey night mare did us in,and yes we needed to get our Candidate to touch base with the same people she targeted with her campaign ads.

Roger Ailes crafted the Campaign themes for the Rethugs, and Fox News and CNN did the rest. Amazing how totally ignorant the voters are,so many did not have a clue that none of the Clinton's were ever charged with or convicted of all the crap thrown at them. Guilt by association and preceived guilty because Fox News said they were.

breitbart even though they were super liberal (Bernie Bro), others mentioned Vince Foster (Wtf?) as well as having misconceptions about corporate donations. They refused to believe both others refused to release taxes!

I'd donated with three different employers this year- and my friends still didn't believe that amount of what was counted in Bernies deeply denounced corporate donation. I was going to explain about superpacs- but it was too tiring. I've never seen so much bullsht in my life. So much for the Information Age.

"One election will not change America.”

From here in Europe, where climate change and an increasingly imperialistic Russia are not theoretical worries, but drastic, current issues, people think differently. They think this one election HAS changed America, much like the one in 2000, and not for the better.
