The mistake I think the Clinton campaign made was trying to run up the score

You only need 270 Electoral Votes to win. You don't get to serve an extra year if you rack up a lot of electoral votes.

I think the mistake they made was automatically assuming they would easily win Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan because these states had been voting (D) since 1992. As a result, they tried to make a play for Arizona, Texas and even Utah.

What Trump did was he went to those mid-western states and he told them what they want to hear regarding Trade, Infrastructure, Foreign Policy and Government Reform. This attracted enough Democrats to either vote for him or be complacent enough to where they didn't even vote.

What they should have done was use the the playbook they used against Mitt Romney i.e. out of touch billionaire who uses foreign sources of labor to make his products etc. in these states.

Hillary didn't even campaign in Wisconsin and there was only a difference of 22,000 votes and in Michigan she only campaigned towards the end and it's only a 9,500 difference. I would have assumed these states are in play and tried to campaign there more.

This all assumes the results in these states are legit and there was no outside manipulation which could be a possibility. I mean what are the chances Trump would win PA, MI, WI and FL by 1% or less in each state. That seems suspect to me. I don't recall a presidential candidate winning 4 states by 1% or less but I could be wrong.

Part of the problem the Democrats have is there voters are mostly concentrated geographically. Hillary won California by 3.7 million votes and counting. Just take 500,000 of those votes and put them in other states and should would have over 300 electoral votes.

that the "email investigation was being reopened", I think you would have a valid point.

However, because of that interference it will be a variable that we can only speculate on

There is no way that I could ever keep up with either of them but one of the few things that impressed me about Trump was that he was everywhere. The talking heads could not figure out why he was wasting so much of his time but obviously it helped. Trump strikes me as the energizer bully rabbit. I can only wish I had some of his energy but I am not a bully like his is by any means.

I will also agree that Comey's statement that the email investigation was being reopened hurt Hillary big time. He was out of line to make both of his two statements. It only increased the conception that Hillary was untrustworthy.

Future historians will most likely feel Comey played a big role in the results of this election.

The various email and whatever nonsense was immeasurable.

Just listen to any of the interviews they do of the typical Trump voters and it's all basically the same brainwashed bullcrap.

to get the votes from all groups including white men. He was a diszzzzźzzzzzzźzzzaster. So she would have the Senate. She wanted the house too. She was aiming for the whole flock without a shotgun. She would have won with Elizabeth Warren as vp. Warren is charismatic, popular on economic issues, energizes people and would have reved up millennials and the left. Clinton should have known herself better and her weaknesses. That being said there were all the tadry leaks or the threats of leaks. There were numerous other things that leave a bad taste in one's mouth like Trump the liar. He was also running outside all norms. He got free coverage. Americans have been dumbed down. Gerrymandering.
