Time for the next generation to step up to the plate

It's time to find new people in this modern era. The way things are always done just don't matter anymore. Trump pretty much broke the system, and I think anybody with enough charisma can win. If a crooked billionaire can win with slogans and billions in free advertising from the media, fuck it. Might as well choose somebody we like to see on tv from here on out. The age of the Celebrity Presidents begins.

I find this sad because it is absolutely how I see the nation right now. We no longer research to see what the facts are. We don't collectively try to do what is best for each other. We just pick the person the media pays the most attention to, good or bad. With the rise of quick news, memes, instant gratification is the way of the world. Shit moves so fast we go from one thing to the next faster than you can blink, but on the other hand, nothing ever goes away because it has been memed a bajillion times.

Either we can get depressed and be all sad and shit, or we can figure out how to play hardball and find somebody who the media will give a bajillion dollars in free airtime to, while we watch the coming Shitshow.

In the meantime, lets just prepare to try to antagonize the thin skinned maniac and keep him on twitter fighting with people, that way he has less time to fuck shit up. Maybe the media can help us out by reporting the facts to piss him off.

I watched this lead up to a Monday night football game and it impressed me so much that I called my daughter and her husband into my room. I told them. "You are looking at our next President."

I knew mccain or romney had no chance. Lucky for us he is smart as hell too, also, Trump is dumb. We need to remmber this next time we pick our candidates, I dont want to see any repeats among our contestants, we need folks running that people in the nation like and connect well with many. And nobody with a long long history in government of decades, I think. Too much crap the media can blow up from a statement made 20 years ago. I will miss obama so much.

Time for the next generation to invigorate the democratic party. By the way, the more things feel different the more they also reflect history. Presidents in the past too have also relied on memes, misinformation, myth-creating & overall fear & ignorance. Good folks like Adlai Stevenson, Shirley Chisholm, George McGovern have gotten steamrollered by the onslaught of corporate media & memes. Hillary won the popular vote by a large number of votes. So we've got that going for us. From what I'm reading, a lot of the voting in the rust belt was from either a) severe frustration that nothing has gotten better for them over the past decades or b) complete denial that they think these manufacturing jobs are coming back through magic. I don't know for sure, but I'm interested in finding out more about why they voted the way they did, at least in very small majorities in some swing states. Also very interested in hearing why many didn't vote at all. And how cheating came into play too.

I'm more interested now in local politics. Things can spread from there. I feel pretty burned out on most social media. It's just a lot of misinformation, yelling & screaming at no one in particular. With few listening to each other. Posting a photo of nature gets more likes that some screed. I've noticed among my friends a desire to read more substantive material, stuff like NY Times, the Economist, BBC news, etc. Get out of our circular bubbles. Huge frustration with the more hysterical forms of cable 'news' or huff post / breitbart / drudge type sensationalism. I guess I have some cool friends, lol.

I think the promise of bringing back factory jobs and mining jobs appealed to lots of folks. I had one at my house telling me how trump would bring back manufacturing that Hillary lost when she negotiated nafta. I had to break it to the guy that GHWB negotiated that. He was actually surprised. Then I told him about automation. He now realizes that manufacturing wont be saving us anytime soon. He actually looked scared.

Well-said. Personally, I'm more into introspection, stress-reduction. Sticking with tried & true things like nature & contemplation & laughter. Reading from better sources. Avoiding television 'news.' I prefer watching sports & comedy. Hit mute during commercials. Hey, I hope they do succeed in bringing back some manufacturing. It won't be the same as post-WWI though, when we were at the height of the American empire. In some ways I'm like 'fuck it.' Every empire needs it's ass kicked. There's fewer people going to bed hungry around the world than at any time ever. Good for them. Hope you enjoy a good thanksgiving bravenak. Are you doing anything special?

They dont want to hear the real truth about how this shit goes. On the one hand they want to be paid great money to work in a factory, but they cannot tell me how we can convince the factories to stay there and pay them well when they can get the good made cheaper elsewhere, and how we can do any of it without regulations. I almost broke my brain trying to explain how the exonomy work and how bills become laws and then I did cry because the guy said 'thank you, i had no idea how that worked' and I was sad because he is a college grad and has no fucking clue about a fucking thing. But he knows hillary made nafta and that that killed all jobs ever. I give up, ya know, fuck this shit, this is impossible. Fuck it, nobody ever gives a shit if any thing is real or factual. Best to let them get exactly what they asked for, no saving them, lets let them have it. And when they are wondering why there are breadlines and old folks living in homeless encampments everywhere, we will just remind them about the days when we has SS and medicare.

There is so much political and financial power tied up and being clung to by older generations, that the younger ones have been blocked out for quite some time. If democrats have ideas that resonate, they ought to resonate through a younger set of candidates.

When you lose it's time to move on. Plenty of genexers who are charismatic and share our values, but can actually connect with more voters. We need to get younger folks excited or we pretty much lose the electoral college. Next primary we need to be more foreward thinking and run folks who do well with connecting. No angry guys or standoffish folks who rarely interview, definately nobody that just sounds like a reverse Trump. Time to change the game

I want the party to represent the working class again and was a Bernie supporter, but Bernie and Elizabeth are getting too old. There is no way we shouldn't be able to pull in all our traditional allies - a populist message will not turn off educated professionals, for example. Teachers and scientists aren't exactly rich. And other issues we believe in appeal to many of them. A younger person will have a fresh way to deliver our message.

At least facebook is getting rid of fake news. Thats nice. Might help next time. I really am displeased

In order to win as a Democrat, he must visit every eligible voter's residence to warmly hold hands while gazing earnestly and charismatically into their eyes, whispering how important they are to him, you know, be LIKEABLE, maybe make out with them a little. Leave a handkerchief scented with his favorite cologne, for remembrance. He has to call all of them every day until the election to remind them how special they are, of course, using simple one-syllable words and repeating them over and over. This is the only way.

We know how to vote when allowed to do so. It was white voters who pulled off this win for Trump, not the fault of the Obama coalition for not saving the day once again. Hillary still got millions more votes than Trump, that was us, the Obama coalition. Unfortunately for Hillary we do not live in those areas she needed in high enough numbers to overcone the votes of the white majority.

Many places had restrictions placed on voting and had polling places shut down by the republican legislatures. This is the first election without the full voting rights act in force. Taa daa! Their tactic worked beautifully.
