This is my interpretation of the Democratic message Bernie was calling for:

"We will stand with the victims of hate, and the victims of greed, and especially with the victims of BOTH".

I really, really hope no one would have a problem with that, since it is meant to include all of us.

I'm open to any suggestions on how to better word that.

Well, people who are victims of both do have it tougher than people in the other two groups. Ken Burch Nov 2016 #3

just my opinion but "especially" seems to elevate victims of both to a higher status. nit picking perhaps but you DID ask

I truly believe Bernie Sanders cares about both issues, I just think his specialty is helping achieve economic justice while others are more suited to speak about civil rights justice. Of course, everyone should speak on both, imo, but people have different strengths.

It's my own belief that Dr. King was killed for trying to address both. The power structure would have let him live if he had stuck to fighting racism, within the limits of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Act spectrum and left class(and militarism) alone.

...time to treat everyone's issues as equally important and not write off certain ones because of "privilege". A white families struggles are just as real as a minority families struggle. Different, maybe but not in all cases, but just as real.
