Related: About this forumJill Stein asking for recount (this opinion is going to be unpopular)
I think she is trying to save face.
yes so so so many factors in the election result, but if Stein didnt run,
Clinton would be president.

(25,272 posts)the Dems and Hillary to go for a recount. I'm thinking that the Dems and Hillary wouldn't like the optics of them asking for a recount - so what if they put Jill Stein up to asking for the recount and the Dems and Hillary get the benefit of the recount without any bad optics associated to them.
Just a thought.

(2,078 posts)The Green Party cares about election integrity as a principle. There was a similar recount in 2004 after irregularities in appeared in Ohio. In that case the Libertarian Party joined in as well.
Put very simply, this aint about you or Hillary Clinton.

(2,679 posts)I have seen many saying what you did. And many more agreeing that might be one of her reasons. It might not be. Who knows. But your opinion is not all that unpopular.
Now the way I see it is, it looks like she will raise the cash. So there is a very good chance we might get a little more information about what happened in those states. I have know idea if it changes anything or what they might find. But not even looking is dumb.
Maybe we catch a huge break, and Hillary actually got more votes. Maybe the lucky break is a pattern that can't be explained away, that gets investigated more.
The worst thing is nothing changes.
And if Jill Stein helps us find out more info, well cool. I still am not a fan of her politically. But I won't kick a possible gift horse in the mouth either.

(16,829 posts)This is something positive she can do. I seriously doubt she is motivated by guilt.

I, for one, feel no great ill will toward Jill Stein.
