Gun Owners of America: Gun control advocates “have the blood of little children on their hands”

With guns sales growing, the Gun Owners of America have come up with a solution to the increase in mass shootings: More guns. Worse, to those who argue that gun control laws need to be reinstated or strengthened, Larry Pratt has this to say:

The advocacy group Gun Owners of America know exactly how the Newtown massacre might have been averted: Guns in schools.

And in the hours after the tragedy, Larry Pratt, the group’s executive director is calling on state and federal lawmakers to overturn any bans on guns in schools. More hauntingly, he is suggesting gun control advocates “have the blood of little children on their hands.”

Here is his statement:

“Gun control supporters have the blood of little children on their hands. Federal and state laws combined to insure that no teacher, no administrator, no adult had a gun at the Newtown school where the children were murdered. This tragedy underscores the urgency of getting rid of gun bans in school zones. The only thing accomplished by gun free zones is to insure that mass murderers can slay more before they are finally confronted by someone with a gun.”

The Gun Owners of America claim a national membership of 300,000 people.

Can't stand GOA nor NRA, jumble the letters you get GROAN.

But wtf gives with DemocraticUnderground's sponsors, the NRA????? am I alone or something, are others occasionally seeing ADS from the NRA to buy their stuff? or 'how to sign up for concealed carry' with a pistol picture???
.. is DU subsidizing gunnuts by adverting their creepy mentality? or are you subtly taking their money in an attempt to appease blue dog dems?

Here is the advert atop my DU screen as I type:

NRA Christmas Cards
holidaycardcenter.org/NRA
Xmas is Just Weeks Away. Order Cards Now. Get 2 Free Gifts

My first thought was - satire! - it's mad mag with some kinky offbeat satire of the nra & it's guns galore mentality! But no, it's pure nra fantasy wish 'support your 2ndA right to keep & bear arms', by paying $5 for a sh*tty christmas card of which $4.00 is pure profit to the nra.
What gives, DU, some of you closet gunnuts???????????????????????????

Hope I'm wrong, maybe it's just random shuffle of ads or something.

that means they are based on both your browsing history and the subject of what you are reading.

So, NRA ads.

Don't yell at the moderators or the owners- they are trying to fund the place with ads, and they can't control what ads show up. They can block them, but trust me, the right wingers have tricky ways of getting around blocks, so it can be frustrating whack-a-mole.
