Is the Brady Campaign the right organization to lead the charge?

Or are they the group who have become use to getting stomped on by the NRA?

Is it time for a new anti-gun organization with a new name, younger blood and
a much more aggressive agenda?

I don’t know the answer, but I’m ready to make out a check today.

Dunno. But 'anti-gun' is not a useful phrase. Anti-extremism is closer to the mark. onehandle Dec 2012 #1

an aggressive agenda was what got the Brady Campaign in trouble in the first place

Also- don't count your eggs before they hatch. IMHO i think many in the gun control community are going to be dissapointed in the "change" of american attitudes towards guns

I'm not saying that these emotions aren't unwarranted, or illogical, etc. I'm simply making a commentary on the american political landscape. The american public is quite ambivalent towards gun control- even after mass shootings like VT. The reality is, most people see news like this, they say to themselves "how horrible OMG" then go and return to their daily lives. In a few weeks the event isn't even on their minds anymore. There is little evidence to support the theory that this time is going to be significantly any different.

Again, I'm not saying this is right, I'm just making an observation.

from where I live.

You are most likely to see changes in Connecticut first. I have no idea about the rest of the country. The House is in Republican hands.

Big difference.... People in the middle are already speaking out. I don’t give a shit about
the gunners in Texas or any other fucked up red state. But the mothers who have little
ones everywhere in our country have awoken. It has now come to them!

For one thing, they don't seem to have a PAC, and I don't know if they run issue ads. Until they get more involved in elections, they are not going to have much influence. Members need to fear them the way they fear the NRA.

We should be ten times more aggressive than Brady ever was.

about the deaths of children in schools of Cities like Chicago? Why don't President Obama go there, and then he can go to L.A. or somewhere. That is if he really wants to push it. You clean up the guns in those Cities, you can save a lot kids. They need to look at why these kids resort to violence also, instead of demonizing them.
