To place themselves in a political bomb and be labeled as the ones who cut Social Security?

(17,301 posts)They are eating from the same pig trough as the RepubliCONS and unless people start protesting madly, nothing is going to change.

(9,688 posts)They're collaborating with their partners in the Rep party to shaft you.
Both parties take orders from the same base. Both parties use the same language. Both parties have the same ideas.

Drip, drip, drip drip...the sound of our parent's legacy draining away because it was inconvenient to fight to preserve it.

(6,994 posts)Republicans are so much worse..but in reality Democrats may be better able to fool the voters more easily because of what we expect of them.(They are Better bullshitters) The end result,no difference between the two.
So what if theres was talk about forcing Congressional members to pay their own health care premiums and take a 20% pay cut .How much attention would that get?...
Congress stole 2.7 trillion $ from Social Security to fund the Bush tax cuts now they just don't want to pay it back ...thats all it is...they would rather write off what they owe Social Security and make everyone think that the rich will be sacrificing too but in the end there will be some watered down version of tax cuts just like the watered down version of the healthcare bill...

(5,610 posts)"Our" Democratic President and politicians are already willing to cut social security benefits, raise the age limits, etc..so we don't fall off their invented fiscal cliff. Instead of honoring the promises made during their campaigns, it's back to screw the poor and needy as usual.
We currently (for many years) have one corporate party with two different names but the same goal, everything for the elite...their base.

(14,566 posts)More democrats than republicans will vote for this garbage in both the House and Senate.
It moves FAR too close to what the Rs are pushing for, but they won't vote for it, will get it AND will slam the Obama and the Democrats for BOTH how horrible it is AND for cutting benefits, depending on how the wind blows at any given time.

(8,821 posts)The law should be written so that its changes only go into effect two or three years from now. That way a Democratic super-majority can change it back before any elderly see a cut.

(11,197 posts)Further cuts maybe, but they would never undo that which they have collaborated so hard, and for so long, to accomplish.
They not stupid, they absolutely sure we are stupid.

(943 posts)I dont want to see the Talking Heads Democrats twisting like a pretzel supporting the Democrats (head of the same beast) to keep their jobs. This site like others have little to no respect for the likes of Cenk and Mike Malloy who has been telling the truth from the beginning. We "Liberals" lose even when we Win. Who in their right/left mind will vote Dem if this goes down?
