I’ve always thought..Tea Party was the dumbest fucking name for a political party ever.

And when they started wearing those stupid hats with tea bags hanging from them, I knew that it would only be a matter of time. Only freaking idiots would walk around in colonial uniforms with hanging bags from their hats...The fact that they attracted so many people is and always will be a reminder that nothing should be taken for granted.

Sure, it's an idiotic name, but they could have called it:

The Dumber Than Dirt Party
The God and Guns Party
The We Hate Old People Party
The Bullets and Bibles Party

So, see, it coulda been dumber. Okay, maybe not.

LOL! I remind my brother who is a Teabagger about that. And I still use the term Teabaggers. He said it's like calling someone a homophobic name or the N word which he uses. I told him, you guys named yourselves, live with it. They try and deny Teabagger ever existed.

Keith Olbermann Reminds the Teabaggers that They Coined Their Own Name

On his MSNBC show Countdown, host Keith Olbermann reminded the teabaggers, who just now seem to have figured out what the name means, where the term teabagger came from. Hint: it wasn’t Maddow or Olbermann but the teabaggers themselves who coined the term.

Here is the video:

that the acronym supposedly stood for "Taxed Enough Already."

The irony stems from the fact that the vast majority of those "protesters" had just received a tax reduction from Pres Obama as one of his first actions in office.

...then switched once they were clued in about that other meaning.

Of course, the actual Boston Tea Party was an act of property destruction against a corporation that was so well-connected it was considered an act against the crown, and prompted a military crackdown. Not to mention that while it was taking place it wasn't clear at all that the wouldn't be a violent confrontation that night.

Nothing the Teabaggers faced (or protested) came within canon shot of that situation.

They were never anything more than a batshit faction of that party. Sadly, it seems they've taken over the entire Republican party, as evidenced by the loons in charge.

Don't make fun. They've given us so much. They've helped us win back some seats in Congress. They give us the sideshow that the Republican primaries were. They're helping the GOP with their image. I'm grateful to the teabagging idiots.

those early tea partyers being small import/export merchants and small shop owners and such bitching about having to pick up more of the tab for the CROWN by paying a higher tax on the other non-crony teas.

I mean, they threw the tax-break tea in the freaking harbor, one wonders why the Tea Party doesn't ask themselves a question like, "Why do you suppose those early colonist shop-keepers and their friends threw TEA in the bay???"

I know, I know, curiosity just isn't their strong-suit.

On election day, they march in lockstep and vote for every candidate with an R after their name, as they always have. And they have damaged their own party by nominating absolute loons in the primary. Long may they live. I may send them money.
