Could Mitt Romney explain why he wants to be POTUS if asked?

I honestly don't know why he's running for POTUS and/or what he plans to do if elected. Has he ever offered an explanation to anybody anywhere?

Plus he has signed lots of crazy wingut "pledges"

Other than that, he's mostly spent a lot of cash trashing other people. "Look, the other guy is even worse than me." Which is what he, Rove, and the Krotch Bros will do to Obama.

that the upcoming election is going to be pretty exclusively a massive smear campaign against Obama. The problem (for them) is that the right-wing has virtually nothing to show for its 3+ years of running a non-stop smear campaign against him and throwing everything AND the kitchen sink at him, so whose minds might be left to be swayed in November?

It's to help him overcome an unresolved 'daddy' issue that can only be achieved by surpassing him in an unattained goal. Thing is, George Romney has been dead for 17 years now, so he can't get the satisfaction of rubbing it in...unlike a certain other repug I can think of who probably makes Thanksgiving dinner a living hell for another ex-president who didn't make it to a second term.

The world cannot afford the price of this sort of 'therapy.'

Two possible explanations:-

The first is that he is trying to exceed his father's legacy;

The second ... becoming the 4th most important person in the history of the Mormon Church ... the person that brings Mormonism into complete and total acceptance of the American Christian community.
