(34,582 posts)jellyfish are more painful, but they do lack a spine. Unfortunately, pissing on Harry won't fix his problem, unlike doing the same to a jellyfish sting.

(34,582 posts)I just liked the mental image of pissing on Harry's ineffective leg.

(11,936 posts)My main thing is, when people want to attack someone with silly little names like "jellyfish", they should at least get the damn context properly applied.
Harry Reid is way tougher than people give him credit for. I don't agree with all his views. I'm way to his left on a lot of issues. But he knows how to count. He knows when he has the votes for something. He also knows how to maneuver the Senate, even one as painfully difficult as this one, to get the POSSIBLE done. I don't believe he had the votes for decent filibuster reform and Bernie Sanders backs me up on that. So I'm not holding it against him. Anything remotely progressive in the last 4-5 years that's gotten passed at all, Harry Reid has been the guy that's seen it through in the Senate. He isn't loud, but he knows what he is doing and he fights the quiet battles. That's all way more important to me than the kind of result-less posturing you want him to engage in for your own political entertainment.

(34,582 posts)I am being a bit snarky today. I agree about ignore, I have none on my list. I just wish Reid wouldn't fold like he does. Voting against the filibuster reform he proposed just ticks me off. It is like he, along with Boxer and six other dems, want to hide behind the "the mean old republicans won't let us do anything" excuse for two more years.
Again, I apologize for being snippy to you.
