Obama’s extending his hand to Rank and File Republicans?

I’m really tired of the extending hand of reason approach which Obama has tried for several years. I understand it’s imaging technique for reasonableness, however, experience has proven that the republican party is only interested destroying the Obama presidency at any cost.
Any Republic looking to do otherwise, will get his or her ass primaried in a hurry.

Please President Obama, forget about the republican party completely... Let them just react to you.. Get on the road,t keep explaining day after day with fact after fact how the Sequester is a dangerous roadblock to the countries recovery..

Keep the poll numbers climbing against the Republicans who are now catering to the most extremists racists elements of our population. You can not win by being reasonable with these
people..

8 years prior to his first term we experienced the horror of a Republican run government.

His 1st term he threw dem's under the bus (remember the professional left) on Fox to implore his Bi-Partisanship. I think we all know how that worked.

Last term in.....again with the bi-partisanship. WTF

Isn't doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result the definition of stupid.

I turned Independent after his 1st term because he is no Democrat. I'll probably stay a non Republican voting Independent unless there is mystical polar switch of parties.

Either way I'm done watching the expected happen in the Democrat Party.

The unexpected is much worse, Drones, kill lists, military presence on civilian soil, to big to prosecute financial institutions (per recent Holder comment), the fucking list can go on and on.

Oh and to all the dreamy eyed Obama fans, get over it.

There is no such thing as an Independent any more. THats what low information voters call themselves. Please don’t mention Bernie Sanders. He’s one in 100 million...or Green Party which right now just strengthens the republican party..

I just don’t feel the term “independent”, means what its suppose to mean in today’s world..
Today people call themselves “independent” because they feel the "Right" might have some
credible ideas and Independents are not going to shut them down.
I can’t think of one fucking thing the “Right” has to offer this country, except misery.

The MSM has also labeled Independents as being in the middle of the Right and Left!

I'm to the left of Obama and so is Sanders, very much so. Try listening to Norman Goldman, he calls himself an Independent, he's a retired lawyer and he has an excellent view of both sides (meaning the the Democrats are full game too) and he's got free ring tones!

There is such a huge amount of caped racism controlling the republican party and these racist have now become the republican base. That’s a big problem and Obama by reaching out to the Republican’s rank and file is ignoring the fact that much of the republican base hates him simply because of his color. He needs to deal with this by going to war against them with facts and figures and press conferences , not by finding a middle ground...

"I've decided with this whole sequester thing and drones, etc... that there is no difference anymore between parties. they just ACT like they are opposites to keep US in a state of angst"

You say that there is no difference, yet look at the messed up things the GOP has done in comparison to Democrats--voter suppression laws, opposition to gay rights, opposition to immigration reform, opposition to women's right to choose, previous president from their party starting two wars, opposition to gun control, health care reform, tax revenue...Democrats aren't perfect, but anybody who seriously thinks that both parties are the same are kidding themselves.

Despite the drones, Obama is different then Republicans on several issues. The Dems and Obama are not exactly the same as Repubs on every single issue. President Obama sure doesn't want to legislate my reproductive organs nor is he a fan of the NRA. On drones, I totally disagree with President Obama. But on many other issues, I find I am pretty much close to his view. Repubs are ready to start another war in Iraq whereas many Dems are more cautious. You are correct, Dems aren't perfect. But they aren't Repubs either.

It's unfortunate you view this thread as false equivalence when all I'm saying is I don't endorse some of things Obama does which also makes it a Democratic party issue.

I think the only people who would consider a Republican running for President as a salient proposal have either been living underground or on a remote island for the last thousand years.

Bernie Sanders is an Independent whom I consider far to the left than Obama, I'm farther to the left than Obama, I mean the man has professed his love for Reagan and his administration.

Norman Goldman (radio talk show host) is an Independent who is far to the left of Obama and so are a lot of his callers.

I'm afraid the Democrats have moved to the right enough that I don't think I qualify as being a Democrat.

My purpose was to get this thing down to basics.. The Republican base is a coalition of racists
and conspiracy idiots and Obama should not deal with them anymore by reaching out to them..

There is not one thing Republicans bring to the table which is useful in helping our Country get back on it”s feet.

We can start the process of getting rid of this plague by getting rid of all the Blue dog Goddamn back stabbers...

I think you might be on the wrong forum. And who put you in charge of determining whether somebody is or isn't a true Democrat? IMO he is the most progressive president that this country has seen in decades. He repealed DADT and came out in support of gay rights, he signed the fair pay act, enacted health care reform, reformed food and safety, and there have been over 30 consecutive months of job growth. There is so much that he has done, and yet you're sitting here focused only on drones and kill lists?
