Regarding Ashley Judd (D) vs. McConnell (R-KY) and the 'War on Women'

IF Judd does decide to run against McConnell he gave her some ammunition last month when he voted AGAINST the VAWA.

Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013
Roll call here: http://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=113&session=1&vote=00019#position

Ashley Judd's BIO - includes sections regarding her Humanitarian Work and Political Activities, here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashley_Judd

Also, Judd was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky on May 9, 2009.
Judd subsequently earned a Mid-Career Master in Public Administration degree (MC MPA) from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University in 2010. Note: This is what a 'Master of Public Administration' is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_of_Public_Administration

I am not going to claim victory. Voters in KY have been consistently beholden recently to right-wing candidates. While one of the poorer states in the nation they tend to vote against their own interests time and again. Whether that is ignorance, dancing with snakes, the likes of demagogues Rand Paul and chin-less McConnell, is anyone's guess.

But they tend to vote in a pattern that suggests abject, abject...something.....

It's difficult for a nobody to take down someone who's been in office for a long time, but when Arnie ran for governor; from a huge field he emerged victorious.

Name recognition is big.

They'll add the black bars to hide the naughty bits but I'd bet the Kochs are already having them made.

She has done full frontal a couple times, and that won't play in Kentucky at all.

I expect billboards and 24 hour rotation on the fucking television.

I'd vote for her in a minute.

It'll be interesting to see how this goes.

really possible to smear anyone with that which everyone already knows. Millions and millions of people have already seen those films, none of which are crappy films. Mostly big hits.
How exactly does a person's extremely public history surprise anyone? To a great extent, such attacks will be met with 'tell us something we didn't know already'. Commercials to reveal that a major film actor is a major film actor?
They tried it with Al Franken. Apparently it did not shock anyone to find out what they already knew, that he was a famously irreverent comic whose career was founded at the single most drugged out show in network history. I heard Al, during his run, explain that he had to do coke to keep others from doing too much, very funny, worked well. But the scandal was not present, because everyone already knew he was who he was. This is also why Obama wrote about smoking pot and snorting some lines in his book. It was not possible to smear him with that which he had so willingly announced to the world.
Just saying. She's not a secret porn actor, she's one of the most famous movie stars of our time. People already know that. They already know she's been naked in films. Just like they already knew Franken came from a hard party background.

... if you do not know that then you have not been paying attention.

I suggest you go do a bit of research on the bills/laws that the Republican's have introduced and in some cases have passed regarding 'trans-vaginal ultrasounds'.
Bills that reduce access to low cost birth control and other restrictions on other womens' reproductive rights.
And the Republican's obstruction regarding the VAWA.
The Republican's obstruction of the Equal Pay for Equal Work bill...
The Republican's obstruction of the ERA bill...
The list goes on and on.

How many times have I heard this buzz phrase since speculation of Ashley Judd entering the race.

Just what is Kentucky values?
I can only guess when I hear this from a GOP'er, it's anti-everyone who's not white and rich.

The Republicans fear Ashley Judd.

If they wanted her to be the nominee, with their theory that she is so beatable, no ads would have surfaced (from the GOP) this quickly.

This is a good enough reason to discredit the b.s. analyses that the only winnable Democrat in Kentucky is a blue dog. Take those "big tent" Democratic party boasts and stick it.

Run Ashley Judd for U.S. Senator in Kentucky. Watch her compete. She will win the female vote, and there will be a good amount of men with their sexual fantasies who would reduce their auto-Republican support (a must-have for the incumbent turtle) that she can ultimately end up winning.

The vote against the VAWA speaks volumes. I'm certainly not an expert on KY politics but I would think she would carry the woman vote. Her name recognition and "star power" have to mean something. Also, she is very eloquent and engaging. I would just love to see her win.

will cause Republicans like Rand Paul to call for Reince Preibus's head.
After the 2010 midterm election and Mitch and the pubs goal to make Obama a one Termer, Obama-D won re-election in 2012, Democrats had a net gain of 2 seats in the US Senate. 2014- the top Republican of the US Senate loses his senate seat to a Hollywood liberal from a socially conservative state. Judd's celebrity could help Democrats in KY during the 2016 election.
