Obama Drops the Hammer on Mitt Romney’s Lies

Obama Drops the Hammer on Mitt Romney’s Lies

In an interview with Telemundo, President Obama dropped the hammer and served notice to Mitt Romney that his lies will not go unchallenged.

According to Reuters, when the president was asked by Telemundo about Romney’s claim that 92% of the people who lost their jobs in this recession were women, he said, “Everybody who’s looked at this claim knows it’s bogus. What he doesn’t mention obviously is that all these job losses, both men and women, took place as a consequence of the worst financial crisis and the worst economic crisis that we’ve seen since the Great Depression,” he continued. They’re a direct result of the policies he wants to go back to, and I think the American people understand that.”

What is making headlines is that President Obama directly knocked down a Romney lie, but it is the second part of what he said that is just as interesting. In general terms Obama has tied the Republican Party, the GOP members of Congress, and their presidential candidates to the policies of the past. What was different this time was that he came close to connecting Mitt Romney to the policies of George W. Bush.

What the Republicans are about to find out is that Barack Obama is not John Kerry. Obama is not going to let the lies of the Republican candidate go unchallenged. Republicans will try to use Citizens United to swift boat Obama on an epic scale, but Obama will be ready. If this week is any indication, Mitt Romney may be the first nominee to get desperate in a general election campaign before he has even clinched the nomination.

Mitt is just the name he prefers to go by. Same with how Newt's name is Newton Leroy Gingrich, but he shortened it to just Newt Gingrich

Romney was named after hotel magnate J. Willard Marriott, his father's best friend, and his father's cousin Milton "Mitt" Romney, 1925–1929 quarterback for the Chicago Bears.

Wonder how Milton got that nickname. But notice a "hotel magnate" was his father's best friend.

Just get stronger and more brazen in their lying when they repeat it more. I mean the DNC could hire thousands of fact checkers and everyone could just be bored with the outcomes and we could go on like we do, and the Neathardenthals could go on like they do, only lying more and things would be just the same.

I hope the Obama de Pres doesn't falter, and reacts well and tells Mr. 1% what kind of asshole he is. Hopefully he will want to move closer to his Swiss bank.

The Republican Conservative machine is well oiled and fully fueled. The lies that are taken as truth and repeated among the low-information voters could cause them to vote, not for Romney, but against Obama.

Everyday Romney does and says jaw dropping things. His newest ploy of asking for an extension on his taxes will hopefully be seen for what it is: a way to eat up the clock so that a thorough examination of those returns is impossible. His campaign also figures to mount a media blitz to drown it out anyways.

Call him out early and often on his lies before they set hold. Mocking him makes him go off the rails. If enough people start laughing at him, he will self destruct. Hopefully, he will also self-deport.

Even if you apply for an extension, you have to finally file by October 15th. That's 2½ weeks before the election.

Willard is taking a risk. If there's some really embarrassing stuff in his return, and he still won't disclose it all, for
2½ weeks right up to the election, the Democrats can trumpet "what does he have to hide, and where?" and Willard
won't have time before the election for the clamor to die down.

I saw Rove's group got another anonymous $10 million "donation" today. I'd say that Roberts, Scalia and Alito
are enjoying that one far more than we are. Roberts, Scalia, Alito, Rove, Ailes and the Kochs are betting they
buy Willard into the White House the way that clever advertising can convince an Eskimo to buy a refrigerator,
even if he has no electricity and already has one refrigerator. They are looking to convince American voters
to vote for Willard the way they would look to convince an innocent man, wrongly convicted of murder, to lethally
inject himself instead of filing for an appeal.

I wish he'd been more like he is now for the last few years -- then maybe their half-win in 2010 might have been avoided.

Since he's morphed into what he currently is though, I've been looking forward to the debates between the two of them with great anticipation and interest I lacked before it.

He should have no difficulties whatsoever stomping the Mutt as easily as any other dishonest dumbass.
