CNN anchor Carol Costello's interview of 'Bill Nye the Science Guy' is startlingly rude.
Costello challenged Nye last week about his knowledge of climate change.
"If you Google your name — ‘Bill Nye' — you’re 'the kooky guy who doesn’t know what he’s talking about'. I mean, you're not a climatologist. You want to defend yourself?"
Responds Nye: "Sure. I can read graphs."

He handled it very well, because he addressed her concerns. THAT'S EXACTLY how ELECTED (by people like Medea, as well as you and I) people SHOULD respond to those who ELECTED them. Dems seem to understand this - Repugs don't.

The Code Pink heckler was incorrectly claiming that Obama is Commander in Chief so he can close GITMO. This is true, but the president needs funding from Congress in order to close the facility, and move the detainees. Congress continues to refuse to fund the closure of GITMO.

The law says no funds can be used to transfer Guantanamo detainees to the United States, and no funds can be used to transfer detainees to the custody of foreign countries, unless specific conditions are met about how the prisoners will be held.
Obama didn't like those provisions and issued a statement deploring them. He said the limitation on transferring prisoners to the U.S. is "a dangerous and unprecedented challenge to critical executive branch authority ... ." Of the new requirements on transferring prisoners to foreign governments, Obama said it could "hinder the conduct of delicate negotiations with foreign countries and therefore the effort to conclude detainee transfers in accord with our national security."

That being said what she did the other day was rude and uncalled for. She supports Rand Paul, who is ridiculous, dishonest, and a scam artists like his father. I honestly can't believe given her behavior and who she supports that anyone on DU would take her side.
