By Elise Viebeck - 07/20/13 02:56 PM ET
Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) doubled down against ObamaCare in an interview set to air Sunday, calling the law "bad for America" and vowing to fight its implementation.
"ObamaCare is bad for America," Boehner told CBS's "Face the Nation." "We're going to do everything we can to make sure it never happens."
Boehner's comments come several days after the House voted to delay the law's employer and individual mandates over a White House veto threat.
The votes mark nearly 40 times that House Republicans have sought to defund, dismantle or repeal healthcare reform.
Democrats have accused the GOP of mounting a campaign to sabotage the law's implementation.

(126 posts)Would make it look as if PBO accomplished something... And their main goal is to make sure no policies, including erstwhile Republican ones, are passed.. I know, it makes no sense to me either.

(1,399 posts)Then they'll be forced to get on to other matters. Any such bill could never become law until 2017 at the very earliest and by then I think Obamacare will be so popular it won't matter. But really, let the fools vote on it and get it out of their system.

(24,438 posts)that way, if it fails, they will truly be vindicated and can't be blamed. After all, they could legitimately say that they didn't stand in its way and gave it a chance to succeed. And hey, if they help make it successful, they can legitimately share in its success and can show how much "they" helped people- even if they don't do a damned thing other than not stand in its way.
Of course, I don't expect the GOP to heed my advice (and I don't expect ACA to fail without their "assistance" , which will unfortunately create more suffering and headaches for the rest of us as the ACA gets implemented.
