Which world leader do you prefer?

With some posts lately I think this might actually be a valid question to some people...

is Ban Ki-Moon in that he is Secretary-General of the UN.

So far as I know, neither Barack Obama nor Bashir Al-Assad has ever been a leader of any country other than the US (in Obama's case) or Syria (in Assad's). The US is not the Boss of the World, even though it may arrogantly believe that it is.

At least Barack Obama was elected President by the citizens of the US. Assad was placed in power by his Alawite masters and remains their puppet.

Do I prefer Assad? Not at all. But I, as a US citizen, only have the right to choose my own leader, not the leader of another sovereign state. If the majority of Syrian citizens prefer Assad, then let them have him. Isn't that the way it's supposed to work? We have no business trying to remove him.

It has not yet been demonstrated with any accuracy that any rebel group, or in fact, any feasible combination of rebel groups, holds sway with the majority of the Syrian people, certainly not over those who support Assad, even though they may very much disagree with his policies and actions.

You saved me the trouble of posting something very similar, and yours was funnier than what I had in mind as well.

When in doubt, say 'Hitler'

I wish they'd give other dictators their 15 min. of hyperbole - like Idi Amin, Pol Pot, Papa and Baby Doc... - and yes, I am against attacking Syria.
