Did Miriam Carey have health insurance?

I've seen reports that she was fired from her job. It's possible that she lost her insurance then. I've also seen reports that she had medications in her home. If she had no or limited insurance, it's possible that she was skipping doses or splitting pills trying to make the prescription last longer. I doubt we'll ever know one way or another.

She was supposed to take her daughter to the doctor that day so her kid had insurance.

This is all wild speculation, of course, but she may have had no insurance or crappy insurance. It's quite common for people to cut their dose of prescription medications to make them last longer.

She worked for a series of very-talented very-expensive specialist dentists (pediatric, cosmetic, sedation, etc.) and orthodontists. (I'm from CT originally and I recognized their names.) I hadn't heard she'd been fired but I did notice across several articles several different dentists were interviewed as her former employer...suggesting a history of frequent job changes. Presumably, she was very well paid though. No mention if she had insurance.

The whole story is nearly as strange as it is tragic.
