Justice Ginsburg Predicts A Dem President In 2016

CATHERINE THOMPSON – OCTOBER 7, 2013, 9:40 AM EDT

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is confident that a Democrat will win the 2016 presidential election.

“I think it’s going to be another Democratic president” after Barack Obama, Ginsburg told the Washington Post in an interview published this weekend. “The Democrats do fine in presidential elections; their problem is they can’t get out the vote in the midterm elections.”

Ginsburg expressed her reluctance to leave the Supreme Court in several recent interviews, emphasizing that she doesn't feel pressured to retire so Obama may appoint her successor. She told the Post that she takes her job "year by year" and believes "there will be signs" when she does become unfit to remain on the bench.

2. I hope "there will be signs" for myself! My fear is that I won't see them!

It took an accident where her sister was slightly injured for my mother to hand over the car keys. She thought she was putting the car in reverse but she was putting it in drive. That made an impression on her!

3. I hope she's right, because a lot of people will be pissed if she waits to leave under a Republican.

If a rethug gets in there in 2016 you for health reasons might not make it through his term of 4 or 8 years we might end up with a 6 to 3 Supreme Court decision

Whether or not he or she will get to take office is another question entirely. Just ask President Al Gore.
