=========
I dont particularly like national polls but the trends can be important and the trends have been good for the President lately. Also, a lead like this nationally will likely translate into a huge lead in delegates when looking at state by state polls which has been reported recently as well.
Bottom line: Things are looking good for the President. Long way to go but if the election were held today he would win by a fairly large margin.

(2,522 posts)Its the down-ticket races I am concerned about. The msm meme would be "he had no coattails" or "Americans are against one-party rule so they gave the President a republican congress" or some other such nonsense.
nevergiveup
(4,762 posts)If we have some negative figures late summer or early fall it will get very scary. At the moment Obama wins easily with some coattails but November is a long ways off and 6 months in politics can be a lifetime.

(2,825 posts)49% to 44%. I read this in yesterday's Sunday paper.
We are truly a swing-state, as the Democratic insiders predicted.
great white snark
(2,646 posts)Let's hope it holds...I know we have many excited & motivated NC Dems working hard spreading the word. Swing state indeed!

(2,825 posts)As someone here said, the Rove/Koch ads have not started yet.
Still, I was really happy to see this poll.
