Why Are REPUBLICANS Suddenly Afraid to Negotiate?

Republicans have been pushing the talking point that Democrats are refusing to negotiate. Well, over the weekend, as negotiations shifted to the Senate, Republicans have been complaining about concessions that Senate Democrats have demanded in return for concessions demanded by Republicans. Suddenly, Republicans are complaining about demands being raised by Democrats.

Of course, there is one big difference. Democrats would be happy to sign off on a clean CR and debt limit increase. They are not using the threat of a default or shutdown as leverage to get their demands. Unfortunately, Republicans don't really want to negotiate. Instead, they just want to issue a list of demands with a gun pointed at the U.S. economy.

I'd add that how about we see President Obama's judicial nominations and other appointments start to be confirmed.
