Are the Republicans going to pay us (the taxpayers) back the $24 billion from the gov. shutdown?

The Idiot Party just cost the country $24 billion shutting down the government - now they have added to the debt. Are they going to pay this back from their own bank accounts? Between them I'm sure they could muster up $24 billion?

$24B divided by 300M+ is what, $80 per person? Where's the money now?

Send out a search party! Not laughing at you, but numbers like this have no to some of us. More important is getting The Idiot Party out of office!

We can't take another Congress like this in the next few years. They will not get to pull this same stunt again, but they sure cost us a lot, as you say. I've seen the $24B figure quoted a lot, but don't understand it.

But whenever any of us encounter an apologist for the Tea Taxers on this we need to demand that they give us their personal share of the damage. Judging by the remaining support for the Tea Taxers in the polls that should work out to something like $500 to $1000 a person.

That is the point.

The cost to the economy is in money NOT spent that would otherwise have been spent (I think).

Some could argue the idiot party (R) saved the government that $24B. But they'd be wrong, because the damage to the economy and to the trust afforded to the public debt is done.
