I'm constantly delighted and in awe of our candidates. With everyone's shoulder to the wheel for 2014 and '16, we should get there. And don't forget the state races - gotta get rid of those Repuke governors and the whole lot.

Wish I could be closer to all the action, but I'll still do my part signing petitions, writing letters to pols and newspapers, and trying to talk like a sane person to the locals who are willing to allow it. They seem to do best with the most indirect approach, however. I guess my letters to the papers don't make them feel so challenged.

Would you believe that a real TP type at Sunday School the other week up and volunteered that there was too much prejudice in the world, even in our little (allegedly perfect) town - and it's gotta stop! You could've knocked me over with a feather. That's the closest he'll ever come to apologizing for his past bad behavior, but I care more about how he expressed his (partial?) change of heart than I do any direct apology. For so many men, 'sorry' isn't in their vocabulary.

Best thing is that if he really has changed his mind at all, he would make a far better proponent with the others than I would. He's the male who grew up here. I don't care how we get where we need to be as much as that we just get there one way or another. Kinda glad now I never did march around the town square with a big sign proclaiming "WE WON!" Loved wallowing in the thought but I really can pipe down when there's a good enough higher cause to serve.

and I want to see her elected. I contributed to her, too.

Sheshe, I signed onto Democratic Underground tonight with the specific purpose of pointing people to Amanda Renteria, based on this email from the DCCC.

You've given me the perfect venue to do it.

Please, if you are impressed by this email, as I was when I opened it up a few minutes ago, then go deeper and check out Amanda Renteria. We should be proud to have such a talented, experienced, and intelligent woman offering to represent us.

She really will make an All Star Challenger.

IMHO we need more women like her in Congress, it's time to break up, the old boys club.

Thanks for the link, NBachers. I don't have a lot to donate, but I am trying, in a small way to assist candidates from different states.

exceptions for local offices with non Teapublican candidates) like I have since GHWB. The President deserves a Democratic House since the Tepublican/Teabilly House we now have is determined to ignore the people's interests.

And I wish Alan Grayson were my Congressman.

You kinda have to vote a straight Dem ticket if you want anything to happen in public policy that benefits the greater good and those in need, rather than the wealthy and privileged who don't need any help at all. That's something I just don't get. Why should we be bending over backwards to help those who don't need any help? Especially when there are so very many who do need the help and are ignored, for the sake of helping the rich.

Hey, I'm happy for the rich. I'm glad they have their wealth and their assets and their financial security. Good for them! I'm sure many of them have worked hard for it and earned it legitimately (or even fairly legitimately). But, seems to me, that wealth and security means they're able to take care of themselves just fine, and don't qualify for extra help from the government. The haves and have-mores are all set. They're doing just fine. It's the have-nots who need the help and extra effort and attention. Furthermore, as the haves and have-mores are indeed all set and are doing just fine, seems to me that makes them OBLIGATED to help someone less fortunate.

I figure it this way: you've got two guys in a big car. One's a 250-pound heavyweight champ weight-lifter and all buff and muscle-bound. The other is a 98-pound weakling. Or Hercules and Maggie Simpson maybe. The car flips over and there's no one around to help. Which of the two would YOU look toward, to try to flip the car back over? Which of the two do YOU think would be more qualified to lift that heavy load? In republi-CON world, the heavy lifting will go to the 98-pound weakling or Maggie Simpson, so the big beefy muscleman can kick back and relax and Hercules doesn't have to get his hands dirty or muss up his hair.

I wrote to him once re women's health rights and only recently got a reply--total form letter obciously set aside for us libs, thanking me. And then touting his pro-fetus platform AS IF it was what the majority wants.

Let's get rid of them!
