Cruz extends olive branch to GOP senators
Extending an olive branch to GOP senators, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is privately making it clear he wont engage in the Senate Conservatives Funds hardball tactics to defeat his colleagues in their primary races.
At a closed-door lunch meeting of Senate Republicans Wednesday, the freshman conservative told his colleagues that he would not intervene in their 2014 primary fights or fundraise for the controversial outside group. Cruz added that the SCFs decision to try to defeat sitting GOP senators in their primaries was its alone, according to several people familiar with the session.
According to one source familiar with the meeting in the Senates Mansfield Room, Cruz noted that Republican Sens. Mike Lee of Utah and Rand Paul of Kentucky wouldnt fundraise for the group and promised that his image would be removed from its materials. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) told Cruz that Paul took such an action six months ago, but he thanked the Texas conservative for doing so. Other GOP senators also thanked Cruz, sources say.

One source said Cruz made clear to his colleagues at the Wednesday meeting that he would not associate himself with the group any longer. But a Cruz spokeswoman said the senator would still be involved with the groups effort in promoting conservative causes.

Report: Cruz Won't Help Primary GOP Senators
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) won't be helping the Senate Conservatives Fund support primary challengers to Republican senators, according to Politico.
Cruz, the vice chair of the National Republican Senatorial Comittee, told his caucus in a private meeting Wednesday that he won't fundraise for the conservative group or take a stance in primary races.
He also told his colleagues that Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Rand Paul (R-KY) will not fundraise for the SCF.
Catherine Frazier, spokeswoman for Cruz, said that he will still be involved with the conservative group's initiatives, but won't be participating in its actions related to Senate races.

Canadian Cruz wont help defeat repigs in public...
But his teabag brownshirt thugs will stab them in the back all through their reelection attempt.
I wish the baggers all the success in the world! It will be nice to see repig/teabaggers wandering in the political wilderness for the next thirty or forty years!
