Also in Maine, new City Council Woman I voted for won and called her WIFE when she got the results.

COOL. We did great in Maine tonight passing all the statewide bond measures so we can invest in transportation and educational infrastructure. (No statewide political offices on the ballot this year.) In my city we also passed a local bond to make improvements to the high school.

And the best locally was that we elected two city councilors, one man (an incumbent) and one woman (won an open seat), BOTH registered Dems (though these are nonpartisan positions), and the first thing the woman winner did when she found out she won was call her WIFE. I know this woman, and COOL she was able to do that since we passed marriage equality last year at this time. Good for her on all counts.
