An Astounding Number Of Republican Women Would Support Hillary Clinton In 2016

An Astounding Number Of Republican Women Would Support Hillary Clinton In 2016

http://www.businessinsider.com/hillary-clinton-2016-poll-women-independents-election-2012-12#ixzz2mcMiRcZY

I've suspected this just from personal conversations, but look what I found this morning.

--------------

A new Washington Post/ABC News poll finds broad support for a potential 2016 presidential run by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, including a surprising amount of Republican women that say they would support her candidacy.

Overall, 57 percent of the poll's respondents said they would support a Clinton candidacy. That includes 35 percent of Republican women. To put that in perspective, President Barack Obama won just 6 percent of the overall Republican vote this year. Among all women, 66 percent would support Clinton's potential bid in 2016.

Excerpt: Public impressions of Hillary Clinton are at an all-time high, with a large majority of Americans giving her positive reviews as the country’s secretary of state and most wanting her to be a presidential candidate in 2016, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
Among all women, 66 percent say they would support Clinton as a candidate for president in 2016; it is 75 percent among those under 50 and 54 percent among those aged 50 and up. Forty-nine percent of men back a Clinton bid, regardless of what side of 50 they are on.

I'm not surprised. She had Repubican women's support in the primary, who promptly went to McCain. northoftheborder Dec 2013 #1
That explains McCain's 2008 win. Because Democrats don't win without women. nt onehandle Dec 2013 #2

And there would be even more now, with the War on Women being conducted by neanderthals in the Rep. party.

The majority of Republican women are not Tea Party kooks. They may be fiscally conservative, but they think that the T.P. folks are extremists. Most Americans support reproductive rights, although there's definitely a division on the abortion issue.

There's also the fact that many women feel that it's about time that we had a woman president. Hillary may be a bit too Left wing for them (although some on this site think that she's too far to the Right), but they might still support her because she has more than passed the "presidential test". In other words, whether people support her or not, they don't doubt that she has what it takes to do the job.

If she is our nominee, it will go even higher than the 80/84% in this poll.

But 2010 didn't work out so well. A LOT of Democrats stayed home because Hope and Change didn't work so well.

"And 68 percent approve of the way she is handling her job as secretary of state".

The last paragraph caught my eye...especially this part..."approve of the way she is handling her job" as in present terms..

How can it be recent? She has long been gone from her
