The Affordable Care Act is an example of a war on women, Rep. Renee Ellmers, R-N.C., said Saturday in the Republicans weekly address.
Women make many of their families health care decisions, Ellmers said, emphasizing that she was speaking not only as a congresswoman and chairwoman of the Republican Womens Policy Committee, but also as the mother of a college student.
Ellmers said that the cancellations of some insurance policies showed that the Obama administration is essentially saying it knows whats best for you and your family. Not only that, they are making you pay more usually much more and in many cases, taking away the doctor youve been seeing for years.
She added: If you want to talk about a war on women, look no further than this health care law.

(20,277 posts)All those doctor visits while pregnant are very hazardous!
The problem is, is that there are plenty of repub women that agree with this stupidity.

(16,987 posts)The Affordable Care Act stops insurers from blocking or overcharging people for pre-existing conditions -- a win for women.
The ACA allows young adults up to age 26 to remain on their parents' plans -- a win for women.
Under the ACA, insurers must cover contraceptive services without a copayment -- a win for women.
Then there's the emphasis on preventive care, screenings, etc., etc.
In short, I see your GOP talking points and raise you three or four actual policy improvements.
