Florida Republican who called for Obama's execution still a candidate after Secret Service visit
Joshua Black, the Republican candidate for the legislative seat now held by Democrat Dwight Dudley in Floridas 68th House District, wrote on his Facebook page Tuesday that he is still a candidate in spite of the controversy that erupted when he agreed with a tweet that called for the arrest and hanging of US President Barack Obama [Unlink].
Black wrote on Facebook Tuesday that he had been interviewed by the Secret Service earlier in the day.
Finished all these crazy interviews for the day, including the Secret Service. Free speech, no threats, Black wrote, adding the hashtag #goodgrief.
He went on to state on Facebook that he was still in the race to represent southern Pinellas County in the Florida House of Representatives. Yes, I am still running. I'm not ashamed for saying that government officials should be held to the same standards that we are.
Black wrote on another Facebook page that Florida Gov. Rick Scott had asked him to withdraw from the race, but that he had no plans to do so.
