Report: Hillary Clinton compares Russia to Nazi Germany

...

Clinton referenced the passports that Russian President Vladimir Putin has been issuing to people with Russian ties in Crimea, according to reports.

“Now if this sounds familiar, it’s what Hitler did back in the ‘30s,” Clinton said, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram, which had a reporter covering the otherwise closed-press event. “All the Germans that were … the ethnic Germans, the Germans by ancestry who were in places like Czechoslovakia and Romania and other places, Hitler kept saying they’re not being treated right. I must go and protect my people, and that’s what’s gotten

“Mrs. Clinton talked at length on the situation in the Ukraine,” Harry Saltzgaver, executive editor of Long Beach newspaper group, told Buzzfeed earlier.

Both Saltzgaver and a second fundraiser attendee, who requested anonymity, described Clinton’s parallel between the actions of Putin and Adolf Hitler, who resettled tens of thousands of ethnic Germans in Eastern and Central Europe to Nazi Germany.

Putin Is Said to Compare U.S. Policies to Third Reich

Published: May 10, 2007

MOSCOW, May 9 — President Vladimir V. Putin seemed to obliquely compare the foreign policy of the United States to the Third Reich in a speech on Wednesday commemorating the 62nd anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany.

The comments were the latest in a series of sharply worded Russian criticisms of the foreign policy of the United States — on Iraq, missile defense, NATO expansion and, more broadly, United States unilateralism in foreign affairs.

Many Russians say the sharper edge reflects a frustration that Russia’s views, in particular opposition to NATO expansion, have been ignored in the West. Outside of Russia, however, many detected in the new tone a return to cold-war-style antagonism, emboldened by petroleum wealth.

Mr. Putin’s analogy was a small part of a larger speech, otherwise unambiguously congratulating Russian veterans of World War II, known here as the Great Patriotic War. Mr. Putin spoke from a podium in front of Lenin’s mausoleum on Red Square before troops mustered for a military parade.

On the narrow ground of German minorities in neighboring states. This was the pretext first for the dismemberment and occupation of Czechoslovakia ( Suedeten Germans ) and then for invading Poland ( Germans in the Danzig Corridor ).

Instead, we just have to pretend that it's ok to be the most feared country in the world, thanks to our well documented bipartisan foreign policy of supporting brutal dictators, and right wing extremist who overthrow defenseless democratically elected governments that have the audacity to say no to the IMF, CFR, and multinational corporations.

So yea Hillary, you just keep pointing fingers for the the benefit if those who are too blind to see the selfish evils that you yourself support, and are apart of.

was not that his M.O. was like Hitler's , but that it was like Republicans'. The same disconnect from reality, the same my-way-or-the-highway approach, the same kind of bullying, the same shameless/delusional distortion of facts. Yesterday's praise of Putin by Giuliani, McCain, Palin, gives even more credence to the idea that, as far as love of autocracy is concerned, they're kindred spirits .

History-Challenged rightwingnuts want to make crazy comparisons which are so off base as to make one shake their head, doesn't mean that no one should ever invoke the name Hitler. Sometimes people get it right. Hillary got it right. If it's a rightwingnut making the claim, chances are they are up to their usual batshipcrazy speak.
