Christie to Reid---Stop picking on Great Americans

Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) defended the Koch brothers from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Thursday, warning him to ”stop picking on great Americans.”

Last year, Christie wasn’t even invited to the Conservative Political Action Conference. This year, he got a standing ovation for one of the most highly anticipated CPAC speeches of the year. Christie fought back against Reid’s recent criticism against the major donors in the conservative movement. While speaking on the floor this week, the Senate Majority Leader had claimed that Republicans are “addicted to Koch.”

Christie, who is himself often labeled as a somewhat of a bully, used part of his speech on Thursday to tell Reid to stop picking on the Koch brothers.

“What [Democrats] they’re for in Washington, D.C. is to have the leader of the Senate Democrats stand up and rail against two American entrepreneurs who have built a business, created jobs, and created wealth and philanthropy in this country,” the New Jersey Governor told the crowd at CPAC.

If I was in a higher socioeconomic stratum, I'd have insomnia, I guess, but at my income level, I just can't sleep, so I read a lot in the middle of the night, and the more I read, the more clearly I understand that all the nonsensical, self-parodying, contradictory things these "conservative" pols are caught saying (& doing) these days are due to the sheer massive power of the money of the Kochs and some others - those Amway people (deVos & van Andel, or whatever) in Michigan, and some of the Wal-Mart spawn, to name a few. These republicans are just their tools, hired to destroy the government for the purpose of privatization. And by God, they're going to do what they're told, or as the CofC villain, Donahue, famously said, "We'll get rid of them." Just pawns, that's all they are - butt boys, some call them. It's kind of like in "Dr. No", the old Bond flick, where nameless stooges in matching jump suits and bump caps ran around looking dumb, following orders, emotionlessly killing each other when told to by the big guy. You know who I mean - those guys that can't hear anyone sneaking up to hit them over the head. Must be a hell of a way to live - make you real proud of yourself.
