For the Republicans to frame it in terms that border on racial/ethnic/moral assumptions and stereotypes defines "cheap shot". Divisive, inflammatory and reprehensible.

I come from a family of immigrants (Irish - some legal, some not) and live in an agricultural region that relies on immigrant labor (largely Latin American - some legal, some not) to remain viable.

Have you seen field workers harvesting lettuce or strawberries? Long days, back breaking work, piece work...
