Related: About this forumRmoney thinks Obama was naive about Russia.
Yeah right Mittens!!! Like jumping the gun would have prevented the current crisis? I'm with Durbin on this one. Yeah, let's get into a war before Russia makes a move? Think again. This guy is so much dumber than I originally gave him credit (which was very, very little). Rmoney just wants to be right about something. It's not going to happen Mitt. Please retire and go away.

And also made comments that Obama mishandled Syria. If this dumbass was in power we'd be in several wars by now.

No MItt, it's not fantasy land. You've got that one all to yourself.

(3,450 posts)I do not recall Al Gore, nor John Kerry after being deprived of the presidency, either of them being regularly on the TV assessing the job Shrub/Cheney administration was doing.
Yet we are constantly told that MSM is liberal? What a bucket-load of sh*t that is!
Proud Liberal Dem
(24,438 posts)Republicans would have been calling them "sore losers" and ridiculed them whenever they came on. How people still get away with the "liberal media" lie day after day blows my mind. It seems like when Republicans are in charge, the media gets them on ad nauseum. When Republicans are in charge, the media puts them on as nauseum as well.

(22,000 posts)Gore kind of disappeared for awhile (can't blame him given what happened) and Kerry went back to the Senate. At least Bush has had the decency not to comment on foreign affairs after he left office. Cheney still continues to spout shit.

(40 posts)President Obama could do what about it???? These Repthugs are ready for World War 3 with Russia. They are such war mongers.

(22,651 posts)Same with the Romney investments in China and Iran.
The only thing Romney is 'a pro at' is pink slipping, ship-out thousands of Americas jobs, squandering our federal/state funds on his personal'for profit' agendas, and promoting slave labor around the world.
Oh and he's 'a pro' at horse trading, like when he sold that drugged up crippled horse as 'sound' for $20,000. And she had to sue him to get justice.

(9,841 posts)Obviously it's prudent to be vigilant, watchful, wary, etc. of what Russia might do next.
But is there any evidence Russia is a threat again to US interests, let alone that it wants another Cold War? The answer is obviously no, and we should be prudently sprinkling cold water on any such talk.

(375 posts)(Are you reading this Vladimer?) Not Russia, the great nation of beautiful cities and high culture, expressed in literature, dance and music, and science. But Russia, the corrupt oligarchy, that looks to its miserable past of backward tsarism and failed Communism, to somehow justify its nonproductive greed.
Russia the "power" is pathetic! They are bullying what was not all that long ago an accepted part of their empire, but which has been independent for 22 years, and will still be independent while Russia scrambles to pay for their new liability of Crimea.
Vladimer and his cronies need to pay a serious price for their thuggery. If the West can get their act together that will happen.
But no, this is not the time for a new Cold War, despite the nostalgia of the neocons. It's just not necessary!

(448 posts)But it's not very becoming for president or a presidential candidate to just come out and say such a thing. Obama surely understood/understands what Russia is: an oligarchy where the rule of law has largely become a joke, a place where assassination is openly carried out against political opponents.

(3,544 posts)of MSM giving attention to useless opinions from useless people. IE: Cheney, Rmoney, Palin, Limbaugh, etc. They all make me sick, and their opinions are always wrong. Why give them the time of day? It's not that damn slow in the newsroom.

(3,544 posts)Appearing on CBS' "Face the Nation," Durbin criticized Romney for saying "it's hard to think of a single country that has greater respect and admiration for America today than it did five years ago."
"Governor Romney's suffering from political amnesia," Durbin said. "Does he remember the reaction of the rest of the world to our invasion of Iraq? The fact is that many of our stalwart allies of the past thought it was a terrible decision. What President Obama has done is restore a working relationship."
Durbin continued, "Osama bin Laden is gone. The war in Iraq is over. Afghanistan is coming to a close. ... I'm afraid Governor Romney's forgotten those facts."
