So Nate is correctly predicting that based on today's likely voter turnout in addition to the multiple right-wing states where it is now very very difficult to vote while Black of Latino or Young, that the Democratic Party will lose the Senate.
Instead of saying he is full of it (wow, do we change our minds when we dont get what we want, I dont like that), why not say he is right UNLESS we get our people out there to VOTE VOTE VOTE!
Remember, voting is under attack in over half of this country, we need to make sure everyone votes NO MATTER who they are going to vote for.

(13,570 posts)CAMPAIGN ! I agree that the national D's need to get moving, TAKE HOLD OF THE MESSAGE AND DRIVE THE MESSAGE, and get on OFFENSE. Totally agree. At the same time, polls MEAN NOTHING as of now, nor do these "predictions" and we don't want to fall into the trap of a self-fulfilling prophecy and the corporate media meme.
Yes, Dems need to, again, GET ON OFFENSE, DRIVE THE MESSAGE, and TURNOUT TURNOUT TURNOUT.
We are doing this in Maine RIGHT NOW, gearing up for one hell of a BRAWL with the RePUKEliCONS, and we are going beat the living shit out of them !
So yes, get our rears in gear, FINE. But don't let it be some INSANE PROPHECY that just depresses turnout.

(16,286 posts)I wish to see his prediction as a wake up call, and denying the call as some are doing is dangerous.
I dont know how to get ALL Democrats out to vote, I dont know the trick, but I do know many who want to vote will be stopped by Jim Crow laws...if we allow that to happen, or if it happens and we do little in response, we deserve our fate.

(7,018 posts)which are actually illegal and criminal - f.i., direct and indirect vote fraud? Are Dem.
too lax? Do we give a damn at all? If so, we are playing the role of enablers.

(13,570 posts)As to the vote suppression, I know the DNC actually IS working on this, and we all need to continue to work on that too. They tried it in 2012, and look at what happened. It made many people even MORE determined to vote. African Americans were ORGANIZING to DEFY IT in places like Florida. So people can vote, but yes, we need to keep up that fight too.
SPIN IT AROUND. USE IT as a way to RALLY those voters and INCREASE turnout to make them realize WE WILL NOT BE DETERRED OR INTIMIDATED.
They tried that shit in Maine in 2010 with their try to eliminate same day voter registration and voting on election day. Guess what, we KILLED IT IN A REFERENDUM and then CRUSHED the TeaBaggers in 2012, tossing them right back out of the legislative majority and well into the MINORITY in Maine. THAT is how you deal with it.
