Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel officially backed Hillary Rodham Clintons prospective presidential campaign on Friday, calling the former secretary of state a champion for the American people.
Emanuel, a former political adviser to President Bill Clinton and White House chief of staff to President Obama, has signed up with Ready for Hillary and will host two Chicago fundraisers for the pro-Clinton superPAC on June 5.

(23,664 posts)A Rahm Emanuel endorsement isn't going to do her much good among actual real Democrats.
I've voted in every presidential election since 1964 but if Hillary is the best the Dems can put up, I may sit out 2016.
I don't expect a hard left firebrand. I was happy with the Barak Obama that ran both for the Democratic nomination and then for President. I don't think at any point he was a hard left radical liberal and I didn't expect him to be. All I expected was full support and endoresement of the most basic of Democratic party platforms.
Then he won and gave the keys to the house to Rahm, Larry Summers, Tim Geithner, Arne Duncan, Gates, etc. and communicated with those selections as to where he actually stood.
Clinton has much more of a record of being cozy with those folks than Obama did so I have no reason to believe she'd govern in any more progressive a way than Obama did.

(579 posts)isn't going matter....it certainly won't hurt her, and if Hillary wins the nomination, she is better than any clown the Republicans put up.

(13,069 posts)to see what an ill advised decision it would be to sit out the election. This attitude is what keeps the republicans in the senate and house mucking up any potential change. And what puts radicals like John Roberts in a position to impose his radical changes to our democracy.

I'm in a red state, and I would vote for Mickey Mouse before I would sit one out and let Republicans have my vote.
