Idaho GOP Primary Debate

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/05/15/this-gop-primary-debate-for-idaho-governor-is-so-bonkers-we-dont-know-where-to-start/

“Folks, you have a choice: A cowboy, a curmudgeon, a biker or a normal guy. Take your pick.”

That is what Harley Brown, a Republican candidate for governor, told the people of Idaho during a primary debate on Wednesday evening — and it’s an entirely apt description of the situation. Before you’re mistaken, Brown doesn’t consider himself the “normal” candidate in that list. He’s the leather-clad fed-fightin’ biker.

Brown has joined Walt Bayes and state Sen. Russ Fulcher in challenging two-term Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter in the GOP primary.

Hard to believe that attacks on Otter are coming from his lunatic fringe right wing. Any sane Democrat should beat both of them. Is there something in the water around here?

4. How is Brown doing in the polls vs Otter? I couldn't find polls. He looks and sounds like an ideal

to chew into the time available to his main rival to press home his argument to replace Otter in the primary. That's right the Governor insisted these two nut bags be included in the debate to gain an advantage against the one guy that could really give him a run for his money. Don't get me wrong - my home state is full of wackos - but even in Idaho, those in power know how to use the system to stay in power.

Me? I'm backing our Democratic candidate, now there is a guy who really makes sense!

9. Governor Otter said he wouldn't participate in this 1 debate if Brown or Bayes weren't included.

First of all, this was the only debate that Otter would agree to participate in.

Secondly, Harley Brown admitted on Friday that he wasn't even qualified to be on the ballot, and that came out after Otter said that all qualified candidates should be included after Fulcher accused Otter of making Idaho a laughing stock by insisting they be included in the debate.

Thirdly, Otter has a long history of always insisting that crackpots and nutjobs like Brown are included in the debates because they eat up debate time.
Obviously, Otter can't defend his record in the Governor's office, so he wanted someone to distract attention from discussion of his record during the debate.

The people of Idaho got ripped off by Otter's tactic because if Otter had been forced to defend his record, he would have started stuttering, lying, and hemming and hawing about it.
