Dozens Instead of Millions Show Up For Operation American Spring (Talk Radio News)

... “We are the founders of the new republic,” said Tom Maddux, owner of a motorcycle repair shop in Lost Prairie, Texas. “There are rights in the Constitution that you can’t jack with, and they’re jacking with them. They act like the Second Amendment, and the Fourth, Fifth, Eighth and 10th Amendments are not even there. And what has the government done the last 30 years? Call people in militias crazy. We have to protect our own country” ...

The founder of OAS – retired U.S. Army Col. Harry Riley, hoped similar tactics would force the impeachment of President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and leaders of the Senate and House of Representatives. The group is protesting what they see as a militarization of police throughout the country, governmental control over media and lawlessness throughout Congress.

“I was told that if I came here that there would be a bloodbath. I was fully prepared for that,” said Gabriel Oldaker, a member of the Sovereign Ohio Sons group, and a veteran of the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, who spent two tours in Iraq and a tour in Afghanistan. “Congress is deviating too much from the script.’”

Some protesters thought they’d scared off the whole Congress from showing up, but it turns out that the Operation American Spring protest was held on a day that the House and Senate were out of session ...

I guess shooting for l0 million was a bit too high.

If we are ever to change government we have to come to agreement with the populous and we are so varied in our interpretation of what is wrong with government that I find it hard to believe we will ever have a consensus to the point of millions.

It seems we need to start with our own back yard. Research candidates. Go to them and talk to them and be vigilant about knowing what they stand for, and if they lie, as they often do, kick them out.

I wonder if it is realistic to believe that there are honest people who run for political office. I do think short terms are necessary to let us know what these who are elected are really doing what they say they will do before they get into office.

Maybe power just corrupts, so that is another reason for short terms. We can't just give up or in.

are gun laws in the country more or less restrictive than they were when obama took office? To me it seems like it is less.
