President Obama, Hillary Clinton meet at the White House

President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had lunch together at the White House on Thursday, an official confirmed.

“The president enjoyed an informal, private lunch with Secretary Clinton at the White House this afternoon,” the White House official said, responding to a request for comment after People magazine posted a photo of Clinton and one of the magazine’s reporters with a note about not delaying the potential 2016 presidential candidate’s meeting with Obama.

The tweet was subsequently deleted, but a similar one was reposted after the White House confirmed the meeting.

The meeting wasn’t listed on the president’s public schedule for the day, as the duo’s July 2013 lunch — their first after Clinton left the administration — was. That first lunch drew significant media attention, as reporters, photographers and camera operators staked out entrances to the West Wing, hoping for a glimpse of Clinton.
